Help Restore Foot And Ankle Joint Mobility
Here at My Foot Clinic we are always looking for the best way to help fix feet. When your feet are fit and healthy your whole body works better!
Foot Mobilisation is a safe and effective treatment for painful joints and stiffness due to tissue/ tendon injury. It is a very specific method of mobilising the foot, ankle and lower limb to gain outstanding results. This technique can be beneficial as a treatment on its own or when combined with other modality i.e. prescription orthotics.
This treatment targets the joints of the foot and ankle which are stiff, poorly aligned or dysfunctional, and aims to gradually restore the way they work. Through Foot Mobilisation, we are able to identify and treat the source of your foot pain rather than just treating the symptoms.
What happens during treatment?
Following consultation, we will start by assessing the position and function of each tiny bones and joints of your foot. We will identify the source of your foot pain and perform the Foot Mobilisation technique to realign the bones and joints starting the body’s natural repair process to help reduce pain and improve foot posture. Where required, we will also create a home exercise programme specific to your needs aimed at strengthening specific muscles and we will provide you with access to our online exercise programme providing you with useful resources and videos. Further treatment will be discussed with you and any follow up appointments required will be scheduled.
How does the treatment work?
Foot Mobilisation works by identifying which of the many foot joints are stiff and lodged in the wrong position. It improves mobility and promotes fluid production around the joints of the feet. Through a series of Foot Mobilisation sessions, your body will start to naturally repair itself and the bones and joints of the foot will return to their original and best position. You will notice improved muscle function of the foot and leg, improved joint function, foot posture, knee posture and hip posture.
