How do I change my appointment?

Please call My Eye Clinic on 0191 9178887 (open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm) or e-mail info@myeyeclinic-uk.com and we will be more than happy to help.


Can someone accompany me to my appointment? 

You are welcome to bring someone along with you to your appointment. Please note you are advised not to drive following a surgery appointment. 


Can I drive following surgery? 

Following surgery, we strongly advise that you do not drive as you may have a patch placed over the eye. Unless you are using public transport, we strongly advise someone accompanies you to the appointment who is suitable to drive. 


How long will my appointment last? 

Your assessment appointment will last approximately 30 -45 minutes. Surgical procedures can vary in length, you be advised at the time of booking your surgery appointment. 


Will I need an anaesthetic? 

Procedures are carried out using local anaesthetic to numb the skin making surgery as pain free as possible, you will remain awake during your procedure. If you require general anaesthetic please discuss this with your consultant, procedures under general anaesthetic will be carried out at Sunderland Eye Infirmary as a private patient.


When do you hold clinics? 

My Eye Clinic schedule clinics on weekdays, evenings and weekends.   


Do I need an appointment or can I just turn up to the clinic? 

You will need an appointment prior to attending the clinic, unfortunately we do not provide a walk-in service.  


Is My Eye Clinic registered with the CQC?

Yes, Minor Ops Ltd (trading as My Eye Clinic) is registered with the Care Quality Commission. 


Do you have disabled access? 

Our clinic is located on the ground floor with full disabled access.

Do you have parking available? 

Yes, we have a small car park at the clinic with free parking.


How old do I have to be to be seen by My Eye Clinic? 

My Eye Clinic accepts patients aged 16 years and over.


How long will it take me to recover from my surgery? 

The healing rate differs from person to person, post-operative advice to aid a speedy recovery will be provided by your consultant.
